Downey waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Gregori Jaguars a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight games by three goals or more so far this season.

Damian Cortez and Rylan Sanchez scored all three of Downey's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Downey has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 40 goals over those eight matchups. As for Gregori, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3-2.

Downey wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Turlock on the 14th. Gregori has also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Pitman on the 14th.
