Volleyball Recap: Providence Panthers vs. Marvin Ridge Mavericks
After flying high against Palisades last Thursday, Providence came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Marvin Ridge Mavericks on Wednesday, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Panthers haven't been shut out since back in March.
Providence was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 25-19.
Providence's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Marvin Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Coming up, Providence will face off against Ballantyne Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Marvin Ridge, they will venture away from home to square off against Metrolina Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Mavericks surely won't give up without a fight.
