Baseball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Quaboag Regional Cougars, falling 12-4.

Auguster Speight made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Graves, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Quaboag Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North will host St. Bernard's Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bernardians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Polar Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Quaboag Regional, they will challenge Ware at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
