Sierra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Coronado Cougars, falling 45-8.

Thomas Buckmiller had a dynamite game for Coronado, throwing for 336 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt. The dominant performance also gave Buckmiller a new career-high in rushing yards (nine). Zen Groves was Buckmiller's top target, picking up 177 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Sierra's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Coronado, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Sierra will square off against Pueblo Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pueblo Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Sierra likes a good challenge. As for Coronado, they will challenge Pueblo East at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,015 yards in their previous games.
