Softball Recap: Breckinridge County Victorious

Breckinridge County proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 11) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Monroe County Falcons, sneaking past 11-10. The Fighting Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Breckinridge County's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Monroe County, they dropped their record down to 3-8-1 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Breckinridge County will challenge Edmonson County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Monroe County, they will head out to challenge Russell County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lakers have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
