Baseball Game Preview: Carthage Comets vs. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils

The Carthage Comets will head out to square off against the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Carthage has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 11.

Carthage fell victim to General Brown and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill didn't have quite enough to beat Camden on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Red Devils have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Jake Cenname made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Carthage's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
