Soccer Recap: Tampa Catholic Comes Up Short

Tampa Catholic was the 5-1 winner over Shorecrest Prep when they last played one another back in January of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Tampa Catholic Crusaders fell just short of the Shorecrest Prep Chargers by a score of 1-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 381st, while the Chargers are ranked 40th).

Tampa Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10-2 record this season. As for Shorecrest Prep, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0-1.

Tampa Catholic will challenge Angeline Academy of Innovation at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tampa Catholic is facing Angeline Academy of Innovation at the right time seeing as Angeline Academy of Innovation is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Shorecrest Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
