Soccer Game Preview: Davie vs. R.J. Reynolds

The Davie War Eagles will challenge the R.J. Reynolds Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Davie's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Glenn 4-0. Given Davie's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Glenn are ranked 357th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, R.J. Reynolds made sure to put some goals up on the board against Reagan on Monday. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 4-1 win. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 10, 2023, but that streak is no more.

The victory made it two in a row for Davie and bumps their season record up to 11-4-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for R.J. Reynolds, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7-3.
