Preview: Battle Creek Braves vs. West Holt Huskies
The Battle Creek Braves will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Holt Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing seems to be in Battle Creek's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while West Holt has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Battle Creek strolled past Cedar Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 30-12. Battle Creek pushed the score to 30-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Cedar Catholic cut but never quite recovered from.
Trent Uhlir continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 170 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for seven yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes.
Battle Creek's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Wyatt Nierodzik and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 40-6, which was the final score in West Holt's tilt against Gordon-Rushville on Friday.
Battle Creek's win lifted them to 6-1 while West Holt's defeat dropped them down to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Battle Creek against West Holt in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 42-6 victory. Does Battle Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Holt turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
