Softball Recap: Flanagan Wins Going Away Against Hollywood Hills

Flanagan lost to Hollywood Hills back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Falcons blew past the Spartans 12-5. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jurnee Bent made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, Alinah Atencio was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lyric Jones, who went 3-for-5 with two runs.

Flanagan's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for Hollywood Hills, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

As of now, neither Flanagan nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
