Baseball Recap: Oakfield-Alabama Sets Scoring Season-High Against Letchworth

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakfield-Alabama). Everything went their way against the Letchworth Legends on Tuesday as they made off with a 14-7 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Jack Cianfrini was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases and four runs. He is becoming a predictor of Oakfield-Alabama's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ryan Schnaufer, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

The win got Oakfield-Alabama back to even at 6-6. As for Letchworth, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Coming up, Oakfield-Alabama is taking a road trip to square off against Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Fighting Irish will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Letchworth, they will welcome Avon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
