Softball Game Preview: Gallatin County Wildcats vs. Owen County Rebels

Gallatin County hasn't had much luck against Owen County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will welcome the Rebels at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Gallatin County lost 14-1 to Trimble County on Thursday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gallatin County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Runyon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Runyon has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Owen County came up short against Shelby County on Monday, falling 19-6.

Abigayle Dempsey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

Owen County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Gallatin County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Gallatin County took their victory against Owen County in their previous matchup on April 1st by a conclusive 10-4 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
