Volleyball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Eaglecrest's 15th in Last 17 Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Eaglecrest had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Raptors: when they faced off against the Golden Eagles last Monday, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Eaglecrest wouldn't go down easily and took Mountain Vista into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 28-26, 22-25, 19-25, 25-12, 15-12.

Jackson Shaw paced Eaglecrest's offense, picking up 20 kills. Shaw got some help from Dillan Ancheta and his 31 assists. Finally, Shaw was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Eaglecrest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. As for Mountain Vista, their loss ended a 16-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 24-3.

Eaglecrest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Littleton Public Schools on the 10th. As for Mountain Vista, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Grandview on the 9th.
