Mt. Zion had won nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but  on Friday they bumped up to 8-1 to make it ten. They claimed a resounding  52-14 win over the Mater Dei Knights. The  game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  38-7.
 Keller Stocks produced another solid  performance throwing for 285 yards and five  touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 31 yards.  Jacob Harvey was another key player, picking up 151 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs.
 Mt. Zion's run defense was locked in: Mater Dei could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. While seven picked up at least one  total tackle,  Harvey stood above the rest. He picked up 151 receiving yards and two  scores. Mt. Zion's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.88 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 8.23 on average over their last five games.
As for Mater Dei, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. They haven't had much luck with Mt. Zion recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
 Although Mater Dei took the loss, they still got scores from  Bodie Brockmeier and  Bentley Nicklin.
 Coming up, Mt. Zion will be playing at home against Waterloo  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Braves' defense better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 31.4  points per game this season. Mater Dei does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
