While Morro Bay didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Santa Ynez on Thursday as Morro Bay made off with an 11-1 win. Considering Morro Bay has won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Morro Bay let Cruz Wilkinson and Evan Davis run wild. Wilkinson scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Davis scored three runs while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Davis a new career-high in RBI (three). Jack Devolet was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for Morro Bay and bumps their season record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Ynez, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morro Bay will host Chowchilla at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Santa Ynez, they will be playing at home against Nipomo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
