Softball Recap: Hicksville's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Hicksville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Wayne Trace Raiders 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Aces as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Aleyah Keeley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Evy McAlexander, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

Hicksville's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Wayne Trace, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Hicksville will take on Antwerp at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Aces are facing the Archers at the right time seeing as the Archers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Wayne Trace, they will square off against Crestview at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
