Football Recap: St. John Bosco Takes Down Ranked St. Frances Academy + How To Watch

St. John Bosco is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of St. Frances Academy. The Braves walked away with a 21-14 victory over the Panthers. The Braves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

A big part of St. John Bosco's win came down to the chemistry between Koa Malau'ulu and his top target Madden Williams. Malau'ulu threw for 279 yards and three TDs while Williams picked up 178 receiving yards and one score. Williams showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 58 yards.

St. John Bosco didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isala Wily-Ava and Jailen Hill. Matthew Muasau was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Defeat or not, St. Frances Academy got some senior leadership from Jae'Oyn Williams and Jaylen Burke. Williams rushed for 121 yards and one touchdown, while Burke rushed for 71 yards and one TD.

The victory (which was St. John Bosco's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 39.3 points this season. As for St. Frances Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, St. John Bosco will challenge Junipero Serra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Frances Academy, they will head out to square off against St. Joseph's Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th.
