Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cannon walked away with it. They blew past the Forsyth Country Day Furies, posting an 80-52 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 24 points or more this season.

Cannon was led to victory by Jakaila Gaskin and Madison Drayton. Gaskin dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Drayton almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Gaskin is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 71% in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Khloe Thompson, who posted 12 points.

Cannon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 22 consecutive matches.

Forsyth Country Day's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lila Kelly, who scored 25 points, and Gigi Lyons, who had 23 points. That was a full 48.1% of Forsyth Country Day's points, marking the sixth time in a row Kelly has earned more than a third of the team's points.

Cannon pushed their record up to 24-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Forsyth Country Day, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-12.

Looking ahead, Cannon will challenge Rabun Gap-Nacoochee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cannon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. Forsyth Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
