It was a good run, but East Palestine unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Martins Ferry Purple Riders by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since April 7th.

Cale Moraski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, East Palestine saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Rutledge, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

East Palestine's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Martins Ferry, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.
