Softball Recap: Norwell Extends Winning Streak to Three

Norwell waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bruins, too.

Norwell got a great performance from Lillie Felton as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Felton has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kaydance Clark was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Reese Frauhiger was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Norwell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 11-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Norwell's record now sits at 14-7. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norwell will face off against Columbia City at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, they will take on Fremont at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bruins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
