League recap: McMillan races to league-leading run for Liberty County

AAAA Region 3A recap September 4, 2013

Liberty County's Raekwon McMillan recorded the longest rushing play in AAAA Region 3A this season in his game against Bradwell Institute last week. McMillan scampered for 78 yards on the play and finished with 100 on the day as his team beat the Tigers.

South Effingham scaled the state rankings by moving to 91 from 171 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mustangs climbed the ranks as a result of topping Bluffton 23-20.

Jordan Waters and Trentice Williams gave Liberty County a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Waters threw for 60 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Williams ran for 101 yards.

Williams was the most successful running back in the league this week.

Tyler Pullum was a passing and rushing force as South Effingham bested the Bobcats. He completed 10 passes for 158 yards and also ran for 20 yards. Pullum's favorite target this week was Tyler Hagan, who caught 6 passes for 88 yards.

Waters put up the best numbers in passing as the Panthers topped Bradwell Institute.

Hagan was the best receiver in AAAA Region 3A this week as Donnie Revell's team defeated Bluffton.

The Mustangs' Pullum and Hagan have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pullum has thrown for 158 yards this season, while Hagan has 6 catches for 88 yards. Liberty County's Williams leads the league in rushing yards with 101.

Wayne County took down Appling County 40-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
