Baseball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-13 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the Hoboken Redwings. Considering the last time the Lions couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Hoboken, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Hoboken's part, Dom Magaletta tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Magaletta has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hoboken let Max Casazza and William Herrera run wild. Casazza went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Herrera went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Herrera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Casazza, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

While Lincoln had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
