Basketball Recap: Argos Comes Up Short

Argos was the 44-33 winner over Jimtown when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dragons took a 42-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jimmies on Thursday.

Loss or not, Argos got some senior leadership from Ellie Bollenbacher and Lexi Gibson. Bollenbacher posted 12 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Gibson had eight points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Pizzuto, who put up ten points.

Jimtown was led to victory by Jordyn Williams and Kiera Jackson. Williams shot 75% from the field on her way to 18 points and eight rebounds, while Jackson went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 40% in the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

Argos' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Jimtown, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Argos didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-8 loss against Culver Academies on the 8th. As for Jimtown, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bethany Christian at 6:30 p.m.
