It was a proper cat-fight when Evansville Mater Dei faced off against Evansville Reitz on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Panthers 3-0. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Evansville Mater Dei walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-13, 25-16.

Evansville Mater Dei was led to victory by Emily Kiesel and Caroline Schultheis. Kiesel had ten digs and three aces, while Schultheis had ten digs and two aces. Schultheis has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Addison Boots also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Evansville Mater Dei was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matchups.

Evansville Mater Dei's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Evansville Reitz, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Looking ahead, Evansville Mater Dei will challenge Jasper at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Evansville Reitz, they will square off against Gibson Southern at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
