Cascade had lost eight straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 2-14 to make it nine. They lost 12-3 to the Mountlake Terrace Hawks. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Cascade saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Walker, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that Walker has hit this season.
As for Mountlake Terrace, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
On Mountlake Terrace's side, Charlotte Snook was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Snook has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Mountlake Terrace got a massive performance out of Amaya Johnson, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Johnson continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Stokes, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Cascade and Mountlake Terrace could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Bruins (ranked 214th) will meet Lake Stevens (ranked 84th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Mountlake Terrace will challenge Snohomish at 4:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (125 vs. 15).
