Basketball Game Preview: Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers vs. New Town Eagles

The Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers will venture away from home to square off against the New Town Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Des Lacs-Burlington will be strutting in after a win while New Town will be coming in after a loss.

Des Lacs-Burlington took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They breezed past Dunseith to the tune of 59-31. The Lakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, New Town was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-43 heartbreaker at the hands of Nedrose.

New Town's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Des Lacs-Burlington, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.

Des Lacs-Burlington didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against New Town when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 63-57 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Des Lacs-Burlington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
