Northwest Yeshiva piles up the points against Pope John Paul II

There's no place like home for the Northwest Yeshiva Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past Pope John Paul II 70-39 at home. That 31 points margin sets a new team best for Northwest Yeshiva this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest Yeshiva to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joe Benoliel, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Benoliel hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Sam Weichbrodt, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Northwest Yeshiva's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Pope John Paul II, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Northwest Yeshiva will head out on the road to take on Auburn Adventist at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Auburn Adventist focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Wednesday. As for Pope John Paul II, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Evergreen Lutheran at 3:00 p.m.
