Softball Recap: Myrtle Beach Seahawks vs. James Island Trojans
On Tuesday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but the Myrtle Beach Seahawks had to settle for a 5-3 defeat against the James Island Trojans. Myrtle Beach has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
For James Island's part, Gracie Sue Billings looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Billings has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Reagan Wheatley was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Gaulden, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Myrtle Beach's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for James Island, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
