Football Game Preview: Lighthouse Christian Chargers vs. Oklahoma City Patriots HomeSchool Patriots

The Lighthouse Christian Chargers are taking a road trip to face off against the Oklahoma City Patriots HomeSchool Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Lighthouse Christian and Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Chargers took a 16-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 259th in Missouri, while the Jaguars are ranked 92nd in Oklahoma).

Meanwhile, Oklahoma City Patriots HomeSchool got themselves on the board against Varsity Opponent on Friday, but Varsity Opponent never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Varsity Opponent 50-0. That looming 50-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Patriots yet this season.

Lighthouse Christian better focus on containing Maddox Eastling and Blaise Ihrig as the pair were huge in Oklahoma City Patriots HomeSchool's win. Eastling rushed for 42 yards and a pair of scores, while Ihrig rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Ihrig also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making eight total tackles.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Oklahoma City Patriots HomeSchool's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Luke Lamke, Noah Waldroupe, and Cale Thompson, who each picked up one sack apiece. Lamke was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Lighthouse Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Oklahoma City Patriots HomeSchool, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Lighthouse Christian came up short against Oklahoma City Patriots HomeSchool when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 16-12. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
