Softball Recap: Franklin County Finds Playoff Glory Versus South Dearborn

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Franklin County had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the South Dearborn Knights with a sharp 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Jillian Harris made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Harris was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Franklin County got a massive performance out of Brooke Stang, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Tiffany Billman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Franklin County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Franklin County now has a winning record of 12-11. As for South Dearborn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Franklin County nor South Dearborn have any future games scheduled.
