Baseball Recap: Cayuga Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Cayuga's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grapeland Sandies on Friday. That makes it the first time this season the Wildcats have let down their home crowd.

Levi McMahon was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Cayuga's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Grapeland, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Cayuga is taking a road trip to challenge Mildred at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mildred will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Grapeland, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Centerville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Grapeland 0.8, Centerville 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
