Basketball Recap: Jack Grasso's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Windsor Locks over Stafford

Windsor Locks fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Stafford on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Stafford Bulldogs 80-76. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (59), the Raiders still had to take the loss.

Windsor Locks' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Grasso, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 26 points and five boards. Sincere Monroe was another key player, putting up 23 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Windsor Locks has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Stafford, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windsor Locks will host Rockville at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Stafford, they will welcome Somers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
