Soccer Game Preview: Lakewood vs. Bishop England

The Lakewood Gators are taking a road trip to face off against the Bishop England Battling Bishops at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakewood will be strutting in after a victory while Bishop England will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Lakewood turned things around against Lower Richland on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Diamond Hornets a 1-0 shutout. Lakewood's winning goal came courtesy of Abner Motika.

Meanwhile, Bishop England faced Ashley Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Battling Bishops fell just short of the Swamp Foxes by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, Bishop England couldn't push the score so high this time.

Bishop England's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Lakewood, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
