Baseball Recap: Thomas-Fay-Custer Takes a Loss

Thomas-Fay-Custer had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 7-9 to make it six. They fell 4-0 to the Union City Tigers. The Terriers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

As for Union City, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

For Union City's part, not much got past Aiden Williams, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Thomas-Fay-Custer off the board. Williams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carson Biffle, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomas-Fay-Custer will host Pioneer-Pleasant Vale at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Union City, they will welcome Millwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
