Softball Recap: Cloverleaf Comes Up Short

After flying high against Woodridge on Monday, Cloverleaf came back down to earth. The Colts came up short against the Northwest Indians on Friday, falling 14-7.

Cheyanne Bachtell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedie Prok, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Cloverleaf has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Northwest, their record now sits at 11-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cloverleaf will take on Streetsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwest, they will welcome Tuslaw at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
