Baseball Recap: Shenango Comes Up Short

Shenango had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 10-5 to make it four. They fell just short of the Ellwood City Wolverine by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Shenango saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Anterock, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

As for Ellwood City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.

On Ellwood City's side, they let Jordan Keller and Jake Biskup run wild. Keller went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Biskup got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Shenango will face off against Laurel at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ellwood City, they will square off against Mohawk Area at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolverine's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
