Baseball Game Preview: King Wolves vs. Roosevelt Mustangs

For the second straight game, King will face off against Roosevelt. The Wolves will take on the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Roosevelt hit King with a seven-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolves took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

King got a good showing from Austin Acosta, who tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Acosta a new career-low.

At the plate, Adan Diaz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of King's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 8-12 when he doesn't). Cooper Cantrell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

With the victory, Roosevelt broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-16. As for King, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
