Volleyball Recap: Discovery Canyon Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Discovery Canyon can now relate to. They fell just short of the Valor Christian Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in April.

Brennan Miles paced Discovery Canyon's offense, picking up 17 kills. Miles got some help from Bradley Hocking and his 28 assists. Finally, Kaleb Valenzuela kept Discovery Canyon's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Discovery Canyon and nudges their season record down to 20-6. As for Valor Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Discovery Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valor Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Legacy on the 9th.
