Basketball Game Preview: Canutillo Eagles vs. Chapin Huskies

Canutillo is 2-8 against Chapin since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Canutillo Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Chapin Huskies at 6:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-31, which was the final score in Canutillo's tilt against Burges on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 737th, while the Mustangs are ranked 339th).

Meanwhile, Chapin entered their tilt with Jefferson on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Silver Foxes 49-13. The Huskies pushed the score to 33-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Silver Foxes had little chance of recovering from.

Canutillo better keep an eye on Jasmine Blake. She was instrumental in Chapin's win, putting up 13 points. Vanessa Mora was another key player, earning seven points.

Chapin pushed their record up to 17-12 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Canutillo, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.
