Bellevue hasn't had much luck against Perrin-Whitt recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Bellevue has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Saturday just wasn't the day for Bellevue's offense. They lost 21-0 to Ponder on Saturday.
Perrin-Whitt came out on top against Saint Jo on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Pirates blew past the Panthers 11-2. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Cole Keeney and Keagan Nevarez made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Keeney kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Nevarez tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave Keeney a new career-high. At bat, Keeney went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Nevarez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Keeney has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Noah Morris was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Travis Welch, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Perrin-Whitt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saint Jo only posted an OBP of .231.
Perrin-Whitt's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Bellevue, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
