The Coyotes have struggled against the Firebirds recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Campo Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-1. As for Chaparral, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1-2.
