Soccer Recap: Cornerstone Comes Up Short

Cornerstone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Holy Spirit Catholic Saints, falling 9-1. Cornerstone were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Cornerstone's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Holy Spirit Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Cornerstone will take on rival Holy Family Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Holy Spirit Catholic is set to square off against their familiar foe Tuscaloosa Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
