Basketball Game Preview: Pueblo Central Wildcats vs. Denver North Vikings

The Pueblo Central Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Denver North Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pueblo Central took on Grand Junction on Saturday. Pueblo Central fell 55-48 to Grand Junction. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Pueblo Central might have lost, but man, Tayvon Evans was a machine: he posted 26 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Those 26 points gave Evans a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrin Hemphill, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver North). They blew past Aurora Central 80-54 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Denver North's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Pueblo Central, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
