Football Recap: Kairi Tabunar and Mckena Beverly Pace Centennial Defense

Centennial came up into this matchup off a tough 20-point loss on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate by a score of 28-25 on Saturday. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Even if they lost, Centennial's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Kairi Tabunar and McKena Beverly, who racked up all four sacks between them. Tabunar is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as she's now made five or more in the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, they moved to 3-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Centennial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-8 defeat against Bishop Gorman on the 11th. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon has also already played their next game, a 40-0 victory against Doral Academy Red Rock on the 10th.
