Football Recap: West Charlotte Skates Past North Mecklenburg with Ease

West Charlotte's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They blew past the North Mecklenburg Vikings 43-0. Considering the Lions have won eight matchups by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

A big part of West Charlotte's win came down to the chemistry between Jamouri Nichols and his top target Donte Nicholson. Nichols threw for 154 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes while Nicholson picked up 54 receiving yards and one touchdown.

West Charlotte didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Daiquan Bowman and Devin Orr.

West Charlotte's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.4 points over those games. As for North Mecklenburg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

As of now, neither West Charlotte nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
