Basketball Game Preview: Redmond Panthers vs. Summit Storm

The Redmond Panthers will head out to take on the Summit Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Redmond is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Redmond duked it out with Mountain View on Tuesday. Redmond blew past Mountain View 67-31. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Summit had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Ravens by a score of 38-31. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Ravens are ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Redmond pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points over those games. As for Summit, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.

Redmond beat Summit 53-40 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Redmond since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
