Football Game Preview: Dracut vs. Acton-Boxborough

Dracut may have come out ahead in their last matchup, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. On Friday they take on Acton-Boxborough at Beaudry Field at 7:00 PM. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Dracut skips in on three wins and Acton-Boxborough on four.

While not quite a landslide, the match between Dracut and Billerica Memorial last Friday was still a pretty decisive one as Dracut wrapped it up with a 32-14 win. No one put up better numbers for Dracut than senior Devin Lambert, who brought his A game into the match. He passed for 267 yards and 3 touchdowns. Lambert has been a consistent playmaker for Dracut as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him.

Meanwhile, Acton-Boxborough faced Lincoln-Sudbury in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Acton-Boxborough narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Lincoln-Sudbury 37-35. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.

Their wins bumped Dracut to 3-0 and Acton-Boxborough to 4-0. Acton-Boxborough's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Dracut defensive front that amassed eight sacks against Billerica Memorial, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
