Basketball Recap: United South Central Comes Up Short

United South Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Martin County West Mavericks. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Mavericks are ranked 103rd).

United South Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Martin County West, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. United South Central will head out to challenge Lyle/Pacelli at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Martin County West will take on Nicollet in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
