Recap: Irvine Vaqueros vs. Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies
If the Irvine Vaqueros were feeling good off their 74-43 takedown of the El Modena Vanguards on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between Irvine and Godinez Fundamental wasn't particularly close, with Irvine falling 62-47. Irvine lost against Godinez Fundamental in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-50 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Irvine lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Deacon Moss. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Felix Bublitz was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Irvine's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Godinez Fundamental, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Irvine will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Woodrow Wilson at 7:00 p.m. Godinez Fundamental is on the road again on Monday and play against Mater Dei at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th. Mater Dei will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
