Softball Recap: Constantine Wins Going Away Against Centreville

Constantine won the last time they faced Centreville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons blew past the Bulldogs 14-3. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Kaitlyn Ross made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Olivia Herlein was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 15 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Breanna Bristol, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI.

Constantine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in seven consecutive contests.

Constantine's victory bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Centreville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Coming up, Constantine will challenge Bridgman at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Centreville, they will square off against Schoolcraft at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
